After AB 45 passed the Assembly Education committee, Mr. Swanson joined other elected officials, community leaders, parents, teachers, and students at a press conference.
At a press conference immediately after the hearing, Assemblymember Swanson was joined by (from left) School Board member Gary Yee, School Board President David Kakishiba, School Board member Greg Hodge, Assemblywoman Loni Hancock (D – Berkeley), Oakland City Council President Pro Tempore, Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi (D – Hayward), and School Board Member Christopher Dobbins. Assemblywomen Hancock and Hayashi, who both represent portions of Oakland, are co-authors of AB 45.
