Oakland Elected Officials Stand in Support of AB 45 at the April 25th Assembly Education Committee hearing.
The hearing room was filled to near capacity with AB 45 supporters from Oakland. Joining Mr. Swanson as witnesses were (from left): David Kakishiba, Oakland Board of Education President; Felipe Campos, District English Learner Advisory Committee Member; Gary Yee, Oakland School Board Member; Christopher Dobbins, Oakland School Board Member; Jean Quan, Oakland City Council President Pro-Tempore; Betty Olsen-Jones, Oakland Education Association President; and Bob Brauer, representative for Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums.
