March 1st, 2007: At a packed forum at Laney College, Assemblymember Swanson joined other local elected officials in voicing support for a new multi-school education center for Oakland Unified School District’s Second Avenue properties. The standing-room only meeting was organized by local community-based groups, including Oakland Community Organizations, the East Bay Asian Youth Center, and OUSD’s Office of Community Accountability.
