Swanson hosts State of Black California Town Hall meeting

Assemblyman Sandré R. Swanson (D – Oakland) hosted the State of Black California Town Hall Meeting in Oakland City Hall to present the findings of a report commissioned by the Legislative Black Caucus (LBC) called “The State of Black California Report.”

The report revealed the disparities in economic opportunities, healthcare, housing, and civic participation among African-Americans and other minorities in California.

Swanson was joined by Assembly Majority Leader Karen Bass (D – Los Angeles), Assemblyman Mike Davis, (D- Los Angeles), Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums, and various experts on health, economics, housing, and education as well as other members of the state Assembly.
