Legislative Internship Program
We are now accepting applications for our Summer 2008 Legislative Internship Program. The internship will begin June 9, 2008 through August 15, 2008 (with the possibility of continuing on in the fall). Applications must be received by Monday, April 28, 2008.
Legislative Internship Description:
California State Assemblywoman Loni Hancock periodically accepts applications for her Internship Program. This is an opportunity to learn about and participate in our state government and to serve our local communities. Interns will work out of the district office in El Cerrito, and may attend events on the Assemblywoman's behalf across the district. (The 14th Assembly District includes north Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, Richmond, San Pablo, El Sobrante, Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga and Pleasant Hill.)
Interns will work on specific projects as well as help with general office management (answering phones, opening mail, etc.). Projects may include collecting, analyzing and presenting economic development data, assisting individual constituents who have needs from particular state agencies, and helping to organize large public events on key policy issues. Interns must be able to commit at least 10-12 hours a week.
