SACRAMENTO, CA Assemblyman Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) made the following statement regarding the California Supreme Court's decision allowing same sex couples to marry in California:

“Today’s ruling is a supreme affirmation of the sanctity of the love that two people share with one another without regard to their gender, and a victory for all Californians who believe that people should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams on equal footing."

Leno's Airline Passenger Bill of Rights Flies off Assembly Floor, Lands Next in Senate

AB 1943 will protect passengers who have been stranded on a runway for three or more hours by requiring the airlines to treat them humanely

SACRAMENTO, CAAssemblyman Mark Leno’s AB 1943, The California Airline Passenger Bill of Rights, which would protect passengers from lengthy delays on the tarmac without basic necessities such as clean water, food, access to clean bathrooms, lights and fresh air, passed off the Assembly Floor today by bi-partisan a vote of 54 to 16.

Leno's Senior Housing Rent Control Measure Approved by Human Services Committee

AB 2598 will allow local governments to protect seniors from the threat of losing their homes.

SACRAMENTO, CA Assemblyman Mark Leno’s bill to safeguard seniors on fixed incomes from unaffordable rental rate increases at residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFEs) passed the Assembly Human Services Committee on Tuesday by a vote of 5 to 2.

Leno's Apple Moth Spraying Bill Gets Critical Support from SF Board of Supes & Key Assembly Committee

AB 2760 will provide the public with critical information on the safety of pesticides before they can be sprayed on urban areas

SACRAMENTO, CA — The San Francisco Supervisors took much needed action today opposing the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s eradication proposal of the Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM) and passed a resolution supporting Assemblyman Mark Leno’s measure, AB 2760, which would require that an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) be completed before a pesticide can be sprayed in an urban area.

Leno Introduces California Clean Water Act with Grading System for Polluting Sewer Pipes

AB 2986 would boost public information provisions of state clean water laws and help prevent sewage spills like those in Southern Marin County

MILL VALLEY, CA – Following recent sewage discharges in Bay Area waters, Assemblyman Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) was joined by Friends of the Earth and San Francisco Baykeeper today to announce that he has introduced Assembly Bill 2986, The Clean Water Act of 2008, which will require the state to issue every sewage treatment plant in California a report card that shines a light on waste water collection systems that are polluting our waters.
