Cesar E. Chavez Holiday Parade
“Public Education is Social Justice”
WHO:         

Assembly Majority Whip Fiona Ma will be joined by Superintendent Carlos Garcia at the annual parade to celebrate & commemorate the life & work of civil rights leader Cesar E. Chavez. They will be marching with students and parents with the slogan “Public Education is Social Justice.”

WHERE:

24th and Harrison St. and proceed up 24th Street to the festival site, Cesar Chavez Elementary.

WHAT:   

Your school and community is invited to join the     “MA SQUAD” contingent to bring the current funding crisis in education to the attention of other legislators, the Governor’s office and the general public.

It is appropriate that we honor Cesar Chavez and his legacy by showing our support for public education by marching side by side with public school families, students and faculty.

We encourage all participants to wear a red top and bring signs expressing support for public education. Please share this invitation with everyone in your school and other communities.
