Assembly Committee to Hear Lead Toy Legislation:
AB 1860 (Huffman) and AB 2694 (Ma)
Assemblymembers Huffman and Ma present legislation
that would protect consumers from unsafe products.
WHAT:

On Tuesday, April 8th the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee will hear Assembly Bill’s 1860 (Huffman) and 2694 (Ma). Both bills would protect consumers from unsafe products. Specifically, AB 1860 (Huffman) would protect individuals from products that are known to be unsafe by requiring the immediate removal of recalled toys and other products from the market. AB 2694 (Ma) would ban no more than trace levels of lead in children’s toys and products, using the 40 parts per million (ppm) standard endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
