Twenty Five Foot Duck Waddles Through San Francisco
Doctors and Public Health Advocates Urge Governor to Sign Toxic Toys Bill

Standing before a 25-foot tall inflatable duck, tomorrow Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, doctors, and public health advocates will urge Governor Schwarzenegger to sign AB 1108 (Ma), a bill that would phase out the use of phthalates in products intended for kids under the age of three.  Phthalates, known toxic chemicals, can leach out of baby products when chewed on, entering children's bodies.

The Governor has until October 14th to sign or veto this legislation.

Who:   Speakers include Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, Dr. Sarah Janssen, and Dr. Robert Gould.  They’ll be joined by public health advocates from Environment California, Breast Cancer Fund, and other organizations.
