Internship Opportunities

The 12th Assembly District Internship program offer high school and college students a unique opportunity to participate in and experience the work of a State Assembly office.  The program exposes students to a work environment in either the 12th Assembly District or Capitol office.  Many lawmakers and members of their staff started their careers as an intern in a legislative office.  The experience provides a great stepping stone for those who want to gain real world experience in a political atmosphere and an understanding of California's democratic process.

Internships are available to all part-time or full-time students, who are 15 1/2 years or older.  Depending on their high school or college programs, students may also receive class credits for participating in the program.  All internship work is voluntary and students will not receive monetary compensation.
