Assembly Member DeSaulnier and The Justin Foundation to hold press conference and release report on addiction treatment horrors |

MARTINEZ–Assembly Member Mark DeSaulnier, Cathie Smith (President of The Justin Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals and families affected by drug abuse) and Bob Tyler (President, California Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors) will gather on the steps of the Contra Costa County Superior Court House at 725 Court Street, Martinez, CA on Thursday, October 25th at 11:30am. The group will release a report compiled from State records detailing seven years of investigations of substance abuse treatment centers. The report supports the need for tougher standards for addiction treatment professionals in California called for in Assembly Member DeSaulnier’s Assembly Bill 1367. The Justin Foundation report found untrained, unskilled and unethical treatment staff:
