At Assemblywoman’s request, Assembly adjourns for Rio Vista officer David Lamoree |

| SACRAMENTO At the request of Assemblywoman Wolk, the California State Assembly adjourned in memory of Officer David Frank Lamoree on Monday, January 9, when it reconvened after the winter interim period.
Lamoree, 26, died in October from injuries resulting from a traffic accident that occurred on his way home from work. He died on his birthday, leaving behind a wife of five weeks, Dorota, his parents, and sister. “At David’s memorial, more than twenty five-hundred officers came from around the state to pay tribute to a colleague who was dedicated, enthusiastic, and well loved by his family and community,” said Wolk as she addressed her colleagues on the Floor of the State Assembly. “David knew he wanted to be a police officer ever since he was in elementary school, and despite his young age, he was well on his way to becoming a distinguished public servant.” Lamoree was the third public safety official with ties to the 8th Assembly District to die in the past four months. The others, Woodland California Highway Patrol Officer Andy Stevens, and Vacaville resident and Highway Patrol officer Michael Walker, also died in the line of duty. |
