Wolk legislation advances in Capitol

Eight bills pass out of Appropriations and on to Assembly floor for vote

SACRAMENTO– Eight bills by Assemblywoman Lois Wolk (D-Davis) moved closer to the Governor's desk today, passing out of the Assembly Committee on Appropriations. The bills will next be heard on the Assembly Floor.

"The Appropriations Committee recognized the importance of these issues," said Wolk. "Now it's up to the Assembly to vote the bills off the floor and on to the Senate."

  • Assembly Bill 576 would consolidate existing immunization registries into one central state immunization registry, helping to prevent missed or unneeded vaccinations for children.

  • AB 748 would permanently ban bicycle and pedestrian tolls on any public bridge or roadway in the state.

  • AB 797 would reform the Delta Protection Act and update the Delta Protection Commission.

  • AB 1244 would extend the life of the California Bay-Delta Authority to ensure continued coordination and leadership for the multi-agency CALFED Bay-Delta Program, which has proven to be a valuable asset in protecting one of the State's most diverse and valuable natural resources – the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.

  • AB 1245 would provide the financial tools and accountability for the Environmental Water Account, to help ensure reliable water supply south of the Delta.

  • AB 1246 would require the adoption of pre-kindergarten content standards in reading/language arts, mathematics, history, social science and science.

  • AB 1328 would designate 31 miles of Cache Creek in Yolo and Lake Counties as a State Wild, Scenic and Recreational River.

  • AB 1558 would establish a pilot project by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) to provide advice to local elected officials seeking to comply with California's conflict of interest laws.
