Assemblywoman Wolk hosts Elder Abuse Workshop

Yolo County’s District Attorney and Adult Protective Services Partner with Assemblywoman

WOODLAND— Assemblywoman Lois Wolk will host an informational workshop for seniors seeking to identify and prevent Elder Financial Abuse at the Woodland Library on Friday.

Assemblywoman Wolk will join representatives of the Yolo County District Attorney, Yolo County Adult Protective Services and local law enforcement to present information on how to prevent falling victim to Elder Financial Abuse. The ninety-minute workshop will begin at 10 am at Woodland Library’s Leake room.

Pending legislation by Assemblywoman Lois Wolk and sponsored by the Yolo County District Attorney will also be discussed at the workshop. The measure, AB 2474, authored by Assemblymembers Lois Wolk (D-Davis) and Patty Berg (D-Mendocino) would extend reporting of elder and dependent adult financial abuse to banks, credit unions, and savings and loan companies. The bill is currently in the State Senate.
