“I’d like to congratulate the students, parents, teachers, and administrators of Cordelia Hills Elementary School,” Wolk said. “I hope that this infusion of funding will go a long way in building new facilities, and providing the high-quality learning environment that our students deserve.” Yesterday’s SAB funding approval for new construction will cover 50 percent of this project’s total cost of $25,438,276. Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District will contribute the remaining 50 percent. “In approving the Proposition 55 School Bond in March 2004, the voters of California recognized the need to build new schools, aid in class size reduction, and modernize our out-dated school facilities. I am pleased that the State Allocation Board is carrying out this mandate in the approval of new construction and modernization funding for schools throughout the state,” Wolk concluded. The State Allocation Board is responsible for the allocation of proceeds from General Obligation Bond Issues and other designated state funds. The Board is also responsible for the administration of the School Facility Program, Emergency Repair Program, State Relocatable Classroom Program, and the Deferred Maintenance Program.
