(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Noreen Evans (D-Santa Rosa) received a 100 percent from the California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) in its 2007 legislative scorecard for supporting key environmental legislation this year. “The beauty of our environment defines our quality of life in California,” says Evans. “Protecting our natural heritage is an obligation that we have to future generations.” CLCV’s legislative scorecard highlights each year how all legislators voted on priority bills for the environmental movement. Evans joins 11 State Senators and 28 other Assemblymembers with her perfect score. The scorecard is available online at http://www.ecovote.org/scorecards/2007/scorecard_2007.pdf. It tracks votes on 24 pieces of legislation, including measures for investing in clean air and alternative fuels, protecting the public from toxic chemicals, strengthening land use, improving flood protection, protecting endangered species, and encouraging renewable energy use. CLCV is a nonprofit, grassroots organization that works to elect environmental champions, fight for environmental laws and keep the public informed about the state’s environmental politics. CLCV has more than 30,000 members. Further information is available online at http://www.ecovote.org. |
