(SACRAMENTO, CA)  The Governor signed Assembly Bill (AB) 112 today to establish a double fine zone for traffic infractions – such as speeding, reckless driving, and drunken driving – along Highway 12 between Highways 80 and 5.  The following is a statement from Assemblymember Noreen Evans (D-Santa Rosa), Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus, who co-authored this legislation.

“Drivers can breathe a sigh of relief,” said Evans.  “With an increased law enforcement presence and highway safety modifications under way, getting this bill signed was the final piece of the puzzle to help keep our community safe.  Today is a great day for our community that relies so much on this stretch of road.  I applaud the Governor for doing the right thing to help protect our community.”
