(Sacramento) – The voluntary recall of consumer products does not keep dangerous items off store shelves. Many recalled products continue to be sold, despite the obvious dangers that prompted the recall in the first place. But Assemblymember Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) has written legislation to stop that from happening. Huffman's Assembly Bill 1860 would require all products be removed from store shelves immediately after a recall is declared and require the company to properly dispose of the recalled products so they don't end up on the market through a secondary seller. Here's more in this Assembly Web Report.
