Huffman Scores 100
Assemblymember Receives an Impressive 5 Perfect Marks

Sacramento, CA - Assemblymember Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) continued a successful first year by receiving perfect marks on legislative scorecards throughout the state. The Consumer Federation of California, the Sierra Club, California Alliance for Retired Americans, Congress of California Seniors, and the California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) each gave Huffman a perfect 100% score for his voting record.

“I’m in the legislature to represent the cares and concerns of my district,” said Huffman. “I believe these scorecards show that I’m a strong advocate of my constituents and the issues they are passionate about.”

These scorecards are annual guides that rate elected officials on the various issues in order to help voters decide how to vote by scoring votes on key state measures that preserve, protect, restore and enhance the health of California’s environment along with financial privacy, health care reform, food safety, truth in advertising, consumer product safety standards, health care reform, prescription drugs, affordable housing, long term care, and pension protection.

“This is CLCV’s ‘Cycle of Accountability’ in action: We worked to elect these legislators last year, and they are already distinguishing themselves as environmental leaders this year,” said Susan Smartt, Executive Director of CLCV. “We believe California has every reason to expect great accomplishments from them in the years to come.”

Scorecards are released at the end of each legislative session. They reflect the percentage of votes cast in favor or opposition of these organizations key issues. These scores include votes cast and non-votes by members present at the time the vote was cast.
