Assemblymember Jared Huffman has been appointed to the Select Committee on Prison Construction and Operation.

Huffman is one of five members on the committee including Assemblymembers Spitzer, Adams, Caballero, Feuer and Parra.

“Our prison system continues to be a major issue in this state,” said Huffman (D-San Rafael). “This committee will give me a chance to play in critical role in improving and repairing this broken system.”

Select committees are usually created to give policy makers an opportunity to examine specific issues more thoroughly. The Select Committee on Prison Construction and Operation will focus on prison infrastructure needs, as well as the day to day procedures.
