SACRAMENTO - Assemblywoman Patty Berg, D-Eureka, received a Legislator of the Year Award from the California Association for Health Services at Home, a group that promotes home care.
The association represents more then 400 licensed home health agencies, hospices, providers of private personal care services, and other providers of products and services in the home.
Association President Joseph Hafkenschiel and other members gathered in Berg’s Capitol office Tuesday to present her with a plaque that commends her for her “leadership and support of home care.”
Berg chairs the Aging and Long-Term Care Committee. She has a long history as an advocate for elder Californians, and has pursued efforts to support health needs and aging issues in the Legislature.
“I’m very grateful for this honor. Home services are an important piece of California’s healthcare system,” said Berg. “I want to thank President Hafkenschiel and all of the members of the association for this award.”
