SACRAMENTO—The Assembly Transportation Committee today passed a resolution by Assemblywoman Patty Berg that designates a portion of Highway 101 as a veterans’ memorial.

ACR 57 would designate a stretch of 101 in Humboldt County, from milepost 68.40 to milepost 71.10, as the Veteran’s Memorial Highway. It will honor all veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States and in all wars past, present and future.

“I am honored to carry this resolution,” said Berg, D-Eureka. “We must always recognize and take every opportunity to honor our veterans for their service to our country.”

Humboldt County Veterans and Supervisor Jimmy Smith worked to bring this resolution to the Assembly.
