SACRAMENTO—Assemblywoman Patty Berg received the 2007 Assembly Leadership Award from Easter Seals at an annual awards dinner Monday night.

“This is a great honor for me. I support and respect the work of the Easter Seals organization,” said Berg, D-Eureka. “I believe their work, just like my work, is a labor of love.”

Easter Seals cited Berg’s work on aging and long-term care issues. She has been a leader in creating better services for California’s aging and disabled populations throughout her career. Last year, she created the first master plan on aging Baby Boomers. The plan creates a blueprint to help California prepare for a dramatic shift brought on by the impending retirement of the Baby Boom generation.
