2007 Legislative Summary

Senior citizens are especially vulnerable to the flu and pneumonia. So, to make sure that seniors have every opportunity possible to be vaccinated against these killers, Assembly Bill 106 would require hospitals to offer vaccines to their over-65 patients before discharge. The Governor signed this bill: Chapter 378, Statutes of 2007.

Assembly Bill 315 allows participating counties to continue the integration of health and human services. The bill gives counties the flexibility to provide service efficiently and effectively. The Governor signed the bill: Chapter 264, Statutes of 2007.

Assembly Bill 682 makes HIV testing a routine part of a physical exam. This will not only help slow the spread of the virus, but will get many patients into early intervention of their status. The Governor signed the bill: Chapter 550, Statutes of 2007.

Assembly Bill 1123 would give the City of Healdsburg greater control over its city center, by allowing it to sign a long-term lease for the state-owned National Guard Armory. The Governor signed the bill: Chapter 625, Statutes of 2007.

Assembly Bill 1568 would name a portion of Ma-le’l Dunes in Humboldt County as the Senator Wesley Chesbro Coastal Trail. The Governor signed the bill: Chapter 548, Statutes of 2007.

ACR 5 designated February as American Heart month and February 2nd as Wear Red Day in California. Chaptered by the Secretary of State, Resolution Chapter 4, Statutes of 2007.

ACR 30 will name the northern Eel River Bridge after Elizabeth Jane Rosewarne, a local pioneer woman. Chaptered by the Secretary of State, Resolution Chapter 69, Statutes of 2007.

ACR 31 will dedicate a portion of Highway 101 in Del Norte County as the California Highway Patrol Officer Ernest R. Felio Highway. Chaptered by the Secretary of State, Resolution Chapter 70, Statutes of 2007.

ACR 57 would designate a stretch of 101 in Humboldt County, from milepost 68.40 to milepost 71.10, as the Veteran’s Memorial Highway. Chaptered by the Secretary of State, Resolution Chapter 113, Statutes of 2007.
