Select Committee on Preserving California’s Entertainment Industry Holds First Hearing in Burbank

Sept. 26th, 2007 - Burbank – Seven members of the State Assembly and a broad cross-section of over 100 entertainment industry professionals came together on September 17 in Burbank for the first public hearing of the Assembly’s Select Committee on the Preservation of California's Entertainment Industry. The hearing, which took place at the IATSE Local 80 headquarters, marked a new beginning in California’s fight to keep its home-grown film and television jobs here in California. Legislation to Slow "Runaway Production" Clears California Assembly

June 8th, 2007 - Sacramento – In a strong show of support for the Golden State’s film and television production industry, the California Assembly today passed legislation to create a California Film Commission grant program that will provide financial incentives to halt runaway production and promote the filming of motion pictures and commercials in California.
