| The API Joint Legislative Caucus observed May 2007 as API Heritage Month on May 14 with a special Floor ceremony featuring the presentation of the Third Annual API Heritage Awards. The Awards were presented to prominent APIs who have achieved in their respective fields and contributed to the API community. Award Recipients included: Sergeant Lai Lai Bui (Excellence in Law Enforcement); Alice Bulos (Excellence in Community Service); Dr. Anmol S. Mahal (Excellence in Medicine); Kal Penn (Excellence in Arts & Entertainment); Phillip Shinn (Legal Excellence); Alexis Wong (Excellence in Business); and Hideo Johnny Yamada (Excellence in Community Service).
