Select Committees
The Senate and Assembly Select Committees on Improving State Government are leading this bipartisan, bicameral effort on reform. These committees are chaired by Senator Mark DeSaulnier and Assemblymember Mike Feuer. They are charged with looking at ways to make the Legislature more transparent and effective, as well as how to make state government more efficient and customer friendly. They will examine how California state government can provide greater value for Californians' tax dollars, cut through the gridlock of outmoded rules and undue partisanship, and diminish the influence of special interests. In early 2010, the committees will issue a joint report and recommendations for reform.
